Playa de Masca

The beach is at the end of the Masca ravine. It is difficult to get to from the land side, as it takes about 3 hours along a complicated path from the hamlet of Masca to the beach. The most commonly used way of getting to the beach is by boats that leave from the nearby marina of Los Gigantes, or from the fishing harbour of Playa de San Juan, further south. Playa de los Guíos

This beach, also known as Playa de Argel, is between the tourist complex of Acantilados de Los Gigantes and the Los Gigantes cliffs, close to the yacht marina, behind the Poblado Marino. You get a spectacular view of the cliffs from the beach. It is a beach of fine black sand, in one of the brightest areas of Tenerife (protection is recommended). On the beach, you can rent pedal boats, sun beds and sun umbrellas. There is also a bar restaurant. Boats leave the neighbouring yacht marina for the beach of Masca, with magnificent views of the sea-battered cliffs.

La Arena

Located in the heart of the small tourist resort of Puerto Santiago, La Arena beach stands out for its excellent setting and extraordinary amount of light. The beach is 120 metres long with fine volcanic sand and a full range of facilities. The coast of Guía de Isora includes the districts of Playa de San Juan and Alcalá, with an important fishing fleet and a year-round dry and sunny climate. In the neighbouring village of Alcalá, there is a fishing wharf that is ideal for bathing. Playa de la Barrera is between the two villages.

Playa Paraiso

These small tourist resorts in the borough of Adeje are about 12 Km from Playa de las Americas, toward Los Gigantes. Access is sign-posted from the main coast road. There is a small cove in Playa Paraíso, next to a large swimming pool that belongs to the tourist complex. The Callao Salvaje resort has a small pebble beach.

La Caleta

La Caleta is a small coastal enclave in the borough of Adeje, near Playa de las Americas, with a stone beach and some fish restaurants. Access is via a turning off the coast road. Following a track for about half an hour to the south, you get to some small coves of golden sand.

La Enramada

The Enramada Beach is located in the Adeje Cove near Playa de Las Américas. This old pebble beach has been remodelled to make it easier for bathing. It is now covered with fine, volcanic sand produced by grinding down the original pebbles and excavating sand from the seabed around Los Cristianos Beach. It is a beach with quiet waters located in a semi-urban setting.

A beach of fine golden sand located in one of the newest areas of Costa Adeje and bordered by a lovely seafront promenade, which joins together over 8 beaches. The sea is calm and the beach extends for almost 700 metres. El Camisón

El Camisón is one of the many beaches between the tourist resorts of Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. It is 120 metres long and makes up part of a continuous succession of beaches which are occasionally separated by a line of stones laid on the sand. As with all these beaches it has a wide range of services and facilities both on the beach and just the other side of the promenade.
A popular beach throughout the year, it offers a range of enjoyable water sports and an easy-going atmosphere. Swimming conditions are excellent due to the breakwater, which protects the beach from currents and waves.

Las Vistas is one of the longest and most popular beaches in the south of Tenerife. It has a wide range of facilities, and its fine golden sand comes from the surrounding seabed. Even in the 1960s, Los Cristianos beach was already attracting some of the first tourists arriving to the south of Tenerife in search of sun and relaxation. It is 400 metres long with golden sand and protected by a port that bears the same name. The beach is at the end of the Marine Walk that begins in the town of Los Cristianos, a lively tourist resort with all the facilities you would expect from an important resort town. On the other side of the port is Las Vistas beach.

Playa de Las Galletas

Las Galletas is a fishing village in the borough of Arona. There are two exits from the TF-1 motorway, one near Los Cristianos, through Guaza, and the other near Tenerife South Airport. It has a beach of black sand and pebbles, down by the fishing harbour, next to the sea front promenade. There are good fish restaurants in Las Galletas and we can also find caravans and tents at weekends and in the summer. The nearby Palm-Mar complex also has a pebble beach with some black sand.

Connected to El Médano beach via the Montaña Roja nature reserve is La Tejita beach, a one-kilometre long beach of fine golden sand that is set well away from the town. Right next to the spectacular Montaña Roja is this small cove which makes a cosy beach, mainly used by nudists. This beach has no facilities, except a small stand selling drinks. However, it is exactly this natural environment, its clean sand, and calm waters that attract visitors to this beach.

El Médano Beach is in the district of Granadilla de Abona, next to the small seaside resort of the same name. It is the longest beach on the island, a two-kilometre stretch of fine golden sand that ends at a volcanic cone called "Montaña Rojo" (Red Mountain). The surrounding area is a protected nature reserve due to its important ecological value. The beach has a range of facilities and a very pleasant seafront walk to stroll along.La playa cuenta con todo tipo de servicios y un bonito paseo marítimo y es un escenario idóneo para la práctica del windsurf. Playa de Candelaria

Candelaria beach, or Playa de La Arena, is opposite the cathedral. It a broad expanse of black sand, but you must be CAREFUL with the currents and the waves. It is advisable to stay near the edge.

El Cabezo, another sandy beach, is the next one along to the north. Several international windsurfing competitions are held here, such as the O'Neill Tenerife Grand Prix, which is on the Professional Boardsailing Association (PBA) circuit.

El Socorro beach, in the Los Realejos district, is particularly well known by surfers as they often practise here or use the beach for competitions. There is quite a strong swell, which means you need to take care when swimming. El Socorro beach is a long, beautiful beach of volcanic sand with a range of facilities including car parks, bars, restaurants and sometimes, lifeguards. To get there drive along the C-280 main road north and then take the signposted exit near the "mirador de San Pedro" (viewpoint) which will lead you down to this beach.

Martiánez

In Puerto de la Cruz, next to the Martiánez Lido, the beach that bears the same name offers two different swimming areas. At one end, nearest to the lido, a breakwater prevents the ocean swell reaching the beach providing excellent swimming conditions most of the time. At the other end of the beach towards the cliffs, there is no barrier to stop the waves, and therefore it attracts surfers and body-boarders.

For many people in Tenerife El Bollullo beach is one of the most beautiful on the island. It is also one of the most isolated and difficult to get to. Although a simple beach bar is the only facility visitors will find, it is impossible not to appreciate the beauty of its 400 metres of fine volcanic sand, the extraordinary clarity of its water, and the peaceful and cosmopolitan atmosphere created by those that go there.
